In a sensational and at times 'disruptive' night at Mingara Recreation Centre, Reliance GP Super Clinic climbed the summit and was announced as 2016 Business of the Year. In a first for the Awards, Reliance GP Super Clinic did not secure an individual category win but similar to the English Premier League and the Tour de France, it was the aggregate total that saw them take the overall honours.
Guests were greeted on arrival by a string quartet dressed in punk clothing in the first display of disruption and this theme was on display all through the Gala event.
Awards co-founder and Director Kerry Ruffels said, “The plan was to produce an evening where we challenged our perceptions of what works and what defies convention. The power to disrupt is all about coaxing the unexpected and rewarding those who venture into unfamiliar territory.” Mr Ruffels added, “I think we achieved what we set out to do and without doubt one of the ‘highlights’ of the night was the ‘hot-pink’ bread roll. Guests were unsure whether it was edible, thus the ‘disruption’ was in full swing”.
The Central Coast Youth Orchestra provided some outstanding entertainment under the watchful eye of Patrick Brennan and 17 year old Tiana Young stunned the audience with her vocal performances. Guests were also treated to exquisite and powerful dancing by members of the Village Performing Arts Central Coast Studios.
The Awards produced some great stories and our 2016 winners now join our Awards Alumni.
